I have been a fulltime professional photographer for over fifteen years. I began my professional photography career as a photojournalist for the Cedar Rapids Gazette newspaper in Iowa. While working for the Gazette I started building my personal image library so I could eventually achieve my goal of becoming a fulltime freelance and fine art photographer.
In 1994 I achieved that goal and have been working as a freelance, fine art, and commercial photographer ever since.
Since, my work has appeared regularly in publications, advertising, galleries and private collections across North America.
Screaming beauty is easy to see --the grand mountainscape, the picturesque lighthouse, the waves crashing on a shoreline. Whispering beauty is more subtle and requires you to pay closer heed - dew glistening on a leaf, the moon reflecting in a tidal pool, gulls flying through morning fog. As a photographer I try to take that screaming beauty and transform it into little whispers of of beauty, to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
