Beadwork in many ways reflects what intrigues me about life, about balance, about the harmony of creation. Nature is a reflection of the Creator and it is in this capacity that I am drawn to create. My desire for sharing this process is what drives me as an artist. On close inspection each bead is beautiful and unique on its own, it's just a piece, but step back and view it as a whole (just as in nature) it derives a stronger, more powerful meaning.
I have participated in many shows, exhibits, and events over the years and received many recognitions and awards. Recently, I received 2nd place in the Great Draw Street Art Competition sponsored by Outside the Lines Art Gallery in Dubuque, IA, in 2011. I received a State Award at Rountree Gallery in Platteville, WI, and will go on to compete in the State Award Exhibit in Madison, WI, in September 2012. I am also exhibiting my work in a group show at the Dubuque Carnegie Stout Public in October 2012.
